People. Partnerships. Performance.
At the heart of Aria Advisory is a simple belief: People, Partnerships, and Performance are inseparable.
When exceptional professionals are given the conditions to do their best work, the depth of their counsel shows. Their clients experience the difference that real partnership makes. Performance becomes the proof and the industry finds a higher standard to hold itself to.
Our Expertise
Actuarial and insurance advisory expertise delivered by Canadian P&C insurance professionals
Actuarial Advisory
Some actuaries can hold the Appointed Actuary mandate. Far fewer become the person a management team actually leans on. We do the harder thing. We work as an extension of the teams we support, and we speak to their boards and their regulators as a voice those audiences have learned to trust. Trust is slow to earn and easy to lose — which is exactly why we treat it as the work itself, not a by-product of it. It's why clients keep us close to the decisions that matter most.
Risk Advisory
Risk is the substance of the insurance industry, not a box to check. We help clients see it clearly — identified, assessed, measured, and managed on purpose rather than discovered after the fact. Capital adequacy and ORSA matter, but they're the proof of sound risk management, not the reason for it. We bring that discipline to insurance companies, to captive insurance, and to self-insured organizations — anywhere the cost of getting risk wrong is real.
Insurance Advisory
This is where advice turns into dollars. Product, underwriting, pricing, growth, profitability — the levers that decide whether a book earns its keep or quietly leaks. We help insurers, brokers, and MGAs pull those levers deliberately — sharpening underwriting, pricing to the risk, and finding the profitable growth that's already sitting in the book — so growth and profitability move together rather than against each other. Clients come to us here because the conversation pays for itself.
Analytics Advisory
Good analysis is wasted if the data and tools can't carry it. We help build the foundation — to get information clean, connected, and trustworthy; to turn it into something a decision-maker can use; and to answer the questions that move the business forward. We pair that with modern technology and the partnerships that keep it current, so our clients aren't carrying the cost of building everything themselves or waiting on tools that were never designed for this work.
Our Approach
Senior expertise, sharpened by technology, building lasting capability in your team.
At Aria Advisory, the people who sell the work are the people who do it — your board hears from advisors with the standing to answer the hard questions, and the same team returns cycle after cycle. We measure ourselves not by how indispensable we become, but by how much stronger we leave your team: working sessions and documentation transfer knowledge, so capability compounds inside your organization rather than ours. And where modern AI can carry the mechanical weight, we let it — freeing senior time to concentrate on judgment and counsel — but it augments the professional and never substitutes for one.
That is the whole of our approach: senior people, doing the real work, sharpened by the best tools, in service of making you more capable than when we found you.
Expert guidance, wherever your insurance business needs it.
Aria Advisory doesn't just follow where the industry is heading — we help decide it. Our people contribute to industry committees where standards for Canadian actuarial work are defined. Our publications are issued in tier-one trade press, work that's regularly cited across the market, and a formal program built around staying ahead of what's next in P&C — this is a firm that thinks in public and is measured for it.
That same standing is what makes us trusted where it counts most: in front of boards, and across the table from regulators. When an Aria Advisory opinion is signed, it carries the weight of a name the regulator already knows and respects — and that trust, earned over a career, is the quietest advantage a client can have.
